Tennis racket stringing in Da Nang: 4 stringers and prices

A player's guide to four Da Nang stringers: prices from 80,000 VND, workmanship, string and tension choice, Zalo contact and Grab racket delivery.

First-hand experience from two years of playing in Da Nang · updated September 18, 2026

Quick answer: where to restring a racket in Da Nang

I have lived and played tennis in Da Nang for more than two years and used four local stringing businesses. PK Sport is my regular choice because it combines a good string selection, a modern electronic machine and two branches. Tennis Shop is the budget option, while Sỹ Sport and T&Q remain useful local alternatives.

From my experience on September 18, 2026, a complete stringbed including labour costs about 80,000–400,000 VND. HEAD Lynx Tour, the string I use myself, is around 250,000 VND. Confirm the exact string, total price and completion time through Zalo before travelling.

What to tell the stringer

Give the stringer four details: racket model, exact string, gauge, and the requested tension for the mains and crosses. If you do not know your setup, show a photo of the old label or explain your current string, playing level, preferred feel and any arm discomfort.

A useful Zalo message is: “Hello! Can you restring my tennis racket with HEAD Lynx Tour 1.25 at 22/21 kg? Please confirm the total price and when it will be ready.” Also ask whether labour is included, whether the grip or grommets need attention, and who will string the racket.

How to choose a tennis string

Polyester is commonly chosen by faster-swinging players seeking control, spin and break resistance. A full bed of polyester is firmer, however, and loses playing tension faster. Beginners and arm-sensitive players are often better served by nylon, multifilament or a more comfortable hybrid before changing one variable at a time.

My favourite string is HEAD Lynx Tour. HEAD describes it as a six-sided co-polyester designed around control and spin, available in 1.25 and 1.30 mm gauges. That is a personal recommendation, not a universal answer: the racket, technique, swing speed and your arm matter more than the label.

String tension and elbow load

Do not request a full bed of polyester at 24 kg or above simply because another player uses it. This is not a universal danger threshold and does not guarantee an injury, but higher tension creates a firmer stringbed. In a laboratory study, lower string tension transmitted less peak acceleration to the elbow during backhand strokes.

Start within the racket manufacturer's range and account for the string material. If a new setup causes pain, do not try to play through it: stop and discuss the cause with a qualified professional. Technique, training load and physical condition also influence injury risk.

When to restring

For my full-polyester setup, 20–30 playing hours is a practical point to check performance. It is not a universal replacement rule: material, spin, pace, heat, storage and the consistency you need all change the interval. Manufacturers also note that polyester loses tension faster than multifilament.

Do not wait only for breakage. Restring when control and launch become unpredictable, strings are deeply notched, multifilament starts fraying, or old polyester feels stiff and dead. If you do not count court hours, save the date and setup in your phone immediately after stringing.

When to visit and how Grab delivery works

Visit early in the day when possible. Small Vietnamese shops may take a long midday break, while a stringer can be busy or decline urgent work close to closing time. Message first and do not assume same-day completion unless it is confirmed.

After one or two in-person visits, exchange Zalo details. You can then send the racket by Grab, agree on the string and tension in writing, add a grip replacement if needed, and have it returned. In my experience, delivery adds roughly USD 1–3 while saving two trips across the city.

Frequently asked questions

How much does tennis racket stringing cost in Da Nang?

From my experience on September 18, 2026, a complete stringbed including labour costs 80,000–400,000 VND. The chosen string drives most of the difference. HEAD Lynx Tour has cost around 250,000 VND at several local shops.

Where do I recommend restringing a racket?

PK Sport is my regular choice because it has two branches, a good string selection and a modern electronic machine. This is a first-hand recommendation, not a guarantee that every visit or stringer will produce an identical result.

What string tension should I choose?

Use the racket manufacturer's range, string material, current setup and your arm comfort as the starting point. Do not copy another player's high tension automatically. If unsure, ask an experienced stringer for a conservative baseline and change only one variable at a time.

How often should polyester strings be replaced?

I check my full-polyester setup after 20–30 playing hours, but there is no universal deadline. Replace sooner if control drops, the bed feels stiff or dead, notching becomes deep, or discomfort appears. Playing style, heat, storage and the exact string all affect useful life.

Can I send my racket to a stringer by Grab?

Yes, after you know the stringer and have confirmed everything through Zalo. Send the racket model, string, gauge, tension and extra work in writing, photograph the racket before dispatch, and confirm the return address and total price.
